PYRNA is a non-profit cultural organization located in Kifissia, a suburb of Athens, Greece.
Our goal is to offer our members and friends the chance of lifelong learning by participating in a series of cultural activities. These include lectures οn history, philosophy, psychology, art, as well as a wide range of workshops, guided visits to archaeological sites and museums, and cultural tours within Greece and abroad.
PYRNA has been operating successfully since 2000 and continues to this day to explore new grounds. At present, the organization has more than 400 active participants.
PYRNA also offers a children’s program, which provides education and entertainment to children between the ages of three and thirteen. Our qualified instructors plan indoor and outdoor activities that encourage children’s participation, imagination, creativity and team spirit. Other endeavors include annual cultural trips abroad, as well as family trips within Greece, aimed at stimulating children’s interest and understanding of Greek civilization and history.
Since 2012, PYRNA operates BOOKS ON WHEELS® (www.vivliaserodes.gr), a program that aims to foster the love of reading among children of public elementary schools in Greece, by bringing a mobile library inside the classroom. The program was created in 2012 and runs for six consecutive years under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Education.
Pyrna also implements a social responsibility program, providing aid to refugees, and creating and equipping kindergartens in Refugee Camps.
PYRNA’s program is published twice annually, in January and September (In Greek) in a form of a brochure and online (www.pyrna.gr)
