Creative Workshop for young choreographers and composers

January - March 2018

Sofia Mavragani & Thanos Polymeneas-Liontiris

Emerging choreographers and composers come together for a period of eight weeks within the framework of an intensive workshop of creative collaboration aiming to present original pieces of work at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron).

Choreographer and instructor Sofia Mavragani, and musician, composer, new media researcher, Thanos Polymeneas-Liontiris., introduce an intensive workshop, extending from January until March 2018 and focusing on the creative aspects of choreography and music. Six choreographers collaborate with six composers for the purpose of creating original works to be presented to the public.

The workshop, by bringing together people who are active in different domains and follow varied artistic practices, looks into the relationship between dance and music, while providing its participants with technical creative tools as well as the experience of a creative osmosis.

The workshop’s objective is to offer artistic support to emerging artists, to work together on their aesthetic choices and to establish a network of a new generation of creators.

The idea of the programme is attributed to choreographer Sofia Mavragani and is materialised for the first time produced by Megaron, the Athens Concert Hall, during the period 2017-2018.

Application submission deadline: 30th October 2017
