A unique exhibition at the B. & M. Theocharakis Foundation

Representative paintings, drawings, engravings, as well as objects made of clay, bronze and glass by the great painter Alekos Fassianos, reveal his deep search for the beautiful, through the poetic power of his creation and through his direct relationship with the poetic world of Vangelis Chronis. For thirty years, the poet and the painter have been sharing words and images, and know, the world of their constructive cooperation is being presented.

Alekos Fasianos studied painting next to Yiannis Moralis at the School of Fine Arts (1956-1960). Between 1960 and 1963, he continued his studies in lithography in Paris with a French state scholarship next to Eugene Clairin and Georges Dayez. His work has been presented in many solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad. Alekos Fassianos also designs theatrical sceneries and illustrates artistic publications. He lives and works in Athens.

Bangelis Chronis was born in 1947 in Stavroupoli, Xanthi. He studied English at the Oxford School of English and Shipping at the City of London Polytechnic. He has been a senior member of Latsis Group since 1971 and a member of the Executive Board of Latsis Foundation. He is the Master of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and has been honoured for his charitable activity. In 2007, his book "Young in Hades" was awarded by the Academy of Athens and in 2016 he was awarded the 1st Odysseus Awards in the international poetry contest during the 9th annual London Greek Film Festival.
