The poems included in the recent bilingual poetry collection by Georgios Papakostas entitled «Exoussiastés-Masters" (Patsi Editiones Limited) are characterized by spontaneity, naturalistic optimism and a sincere love for humanity. As with Papakostas' earlier works, they are inspired by Hellenism and the sense of tradition.
Georgios Papakostas was born in Karditsa and studied Greek Culture at the Hellenic Open University. He has published works of prose and numerous collections of poetry; some of his poems have been set to music by Yiannis Markopoulos and Yiorgos Hatzinassios and presented at the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and festivals abroad.
