European Day of Languages 2021

Date:
Saturday, 25 September, 2021

Celebrate this year’s European Day of Languages with us at the National Garden in Athens!

For the 9th consecutive year, the educational and cultural institutions and embassies from fourteen member countries of EUNIC Athens, in collaboration with the Representation of the European Commission in Athens, the Foundation for State Scholarships (IKY), the Athens Culture Net of the Municipality of Athens and the participation of the Industrial Gas Museum of Technopolis City of Athens and the Athens Coordination Centre for migrant and refugee issues, invite you to a multilingual celebration, which will take you on a journey from one European country to another, exploring the fascinating world of languages and dialects with a programme of events and activities for the whole family on the theme of sustainability and the environment.

Visitors will have the opportunity to take part in a multilingual storytelling festival with tales from the oral tradition of European countries, join educational workshops for children, interact with the organizers and receive a range of gifts.

The European Day of Languages was established in 2001 to support and promote Europe’s rich linguistic diversity and the development of language skills so as to enable its citizens to play their full part in democratic citizenship in Europe and preserve Europe’s multicultural identity.
